Knesset report: car insurance has become twice as expensive in Israel than in Europe. Tomorrow morning, the National Security Committee will discuss the spike in car thefts and their effect on insurance prices.
In 2022, the companies paid 6.6 billion shekels due to claims for traffic accidents, compared to only 700 million shekel due to car thefts, and 600 million due to other claims. In 2023, almost 4 times as many vehicles were stolen in the city of Dimona than in 2021.
