The 30-year-old was indicted on Thursday for “attempted murder of a person holding public authority” and placed in detention. He had attacked him with a knife inside the police station.
The events occurred on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. at the reception of the station in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime. The attacker, described as "very agitated", had "refused to sit down" He then attacked the police officer, lightly injuring him on the lip, neck and a finger.
