Nearly a ton of cannabis was seized Monday evening in Lyon. Eight people were taken into police custody.
The suspects are aged between their twenties and fifties. According to Ofast, the narcotics market generates 3 billion euros in turnover in France. It represents 21,000 full-time “jobs” and 240,000 people live directly or indirectly from it, the government says.. The investigation had been carried out for several months by the Anti-Narcotics Office (Ofast) and the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime.
