A former cashier at an Auchan hypermarket in Moselle, France, has been prosecuted for embezzling 100,000 euros in gift cards. In two years, the cashier had misappropriated more than 400 gift cards, to afford a veranda, transfers to the accounts of her children.
The Metz criminal court also sentenced her to a fine of 108,792 euros for the financial damage. Her husband, who was prosecuted for receiving stolen property, was acquitted.
