A man died during a police intervention in Wattignies (North) during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The individual allegedly threatened the police several times before being killed.
An investigation was opened by the Lille public prosecutor's office and the General Inspectorate of the National Police ( IGPN) The public prosecutor must go to the scene this Wednesday. The circumstances of the tragedy remain to be clarified but it seems that this individual was in possession of a butcher's knife when the police arrived.
