Odysseus became the first private probe to land on the Moon, and the first American spacecraft to do so since the end of the Apollo program. Its mission on the lunar surface was to last around seven days, but will probably be shortened.
Instead of landing upright on all six feet, the probe likely rolled over, ending up lying on one side, according to company analysis. Intuitive Machines indicated that it would continue to recover data “until the lander's solar panels are no longer exposed to light”
