Two suspected robbers, suspected of having attacked a jewelry store in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris with an ax in January 2021, were released. The loot, estimated at nearly 500,000 euros, will never be found.

After 22 months of pre-trial detention, the two suspects were released on October 3, because they could not be judged detained within the time limits provided for by the Code of Criminal Procedure. At issue was the examination of a “procedural defect”, recognized last September by the Court of Cassation, which resulted in the annulment of several procedural acts.
