Representatives of nine countries that will participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest called for an immediate ceasefire and the return of the abductees to Israel. The petition was initiated by the British pop star Ollie Alexander, who represented Great Britain in the European singing competition.

"In light of the current situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, and in particular in Gaza and Israel, we do not feel comfortable maintaining silence," they wrote in the message. It also reads: "We believe in the unifying power of music, which allows people to rise above their differences"
