The body of a young French woman was found dead in an abandoned church in Italy. His companion, a 21-year-old young man of Italian nationality, is the main suspect in the investigation.

The young man was arrested in Lyon on Wednesday April 10 and placed in detention pending extradition. He was already wanted in France for having violated his judicial control, as part of a procedure for domestic violence against the victim. The victim's phone and the murder weapon have not been found, the public prosecutor of Aosta, Luca Ceccanti, said on Thursday April 11, adding that the murder had "probably" taken place in the Chapel. The couple, who went “regularly” to Italy according to the Aosta prosecutor, passed through the Mont-Blanc tunnel via a BlaBlaCar carpool, local authorities added to several Italian media. The woman had filed a complaint against her companion for “domestic violence”, before retracting her statement.
