Report: Apple accelerates the development of a smart ring - voila! technology. The idea of a wearable ring is not new to Apple, as several previously filed patents indicate.
The desire to speed up development is reportedly due to Samsung's expected entry into this market with its own ring later this year. Today, the smart ring market is led by Oura Ring, manufactured by the Finnish technology company Oura Health. The ring collects data on activity, heart rate, breathing rate and sleep and transmits them via Bluetooth to the application.
