A 33-year-old man was indicted for intentional homicide and placed in detention Monday evening. He is suspected of having beaten his mother to death on Saturday in Saint-Pierre, in the south of Reunion Island.
Aged 56, the victim was found dead at his home and his son arrested and then taken into police custody shortly after. The son's lawyer, Maître Clotilde Pauvert, told the press that his client “regrets what happened” and denies “the intention of homicide”
