Former President of the Republic received this Wednesday on appeal a year in prison, half of which was suspended. Sarkozy arrived all smiles, giving his lawyer a “check” with his fist before making his way into the crowded room of the Paris criminal court.
Ten people, including the former tenant of the Élysée, were retried last November in this case relating to a system of false invoices supposed to camouflage the explosion of expenses for the – lost – re-election campaign of 2012.
