Stellantis pulls the plug on the electric Manta: No comeback for cult Opel. Opel Manta rolled off the assembly line between 1970 and 1988.
The sports coupé even got its own film in 1991, “Manta, Manta’. The project has now been frozen and a comeback of the Manta as an electric car is therefore very unlikely. But the work of the Opel designers was not entirely in vain. The further development of the radiator grille with transparency and 3D effect is adopted for the new Grandland.
