Hollywood stars signed a petition to keep Israel in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. "Punishing Israel would be the opposite of doing justice," the artists wrote in the petition.
"Anyone who calls for Israel to be excluded from the competition hurts the spirit of the competition and turns it from a celebration of unity into a political tool," they added. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has confirmed that Israel will participate in Eurovision. Many European countries have called for Israel's participation to be banned.
