The man sentenced at first instance to eight years in prison for the rape of an 11-year-old. The case will be judged on appeal from this Tuesday before the Versailles Assize Court.
Since April 2021, any sexual relationship between an adult and a minor under 15 years of age is punishable by 20 years of criminal imprisonment. The man will however be judged according to the old law, the more severe criminal law not being retroactive. The verdict is due to be delivered on Friday.
