Amina Noor, 40, of Harrow, was convicted of helping a person to carry out female genital mutilation (FGM) on a three-year-old British girl in 2006. The victim, of British nationality, had confided in her English teacher when she was 16 years old.
Judge described the crime as "truly horrific and heinous" and praised the victim's "bravery" The judge hopes that this sentence will encourage others to speak out against FGM.
