A 29-year-old woman died at the beginning of the week in Fréjus (Var), where she was hospitalized after being hit by her companion on the night of January 27 to 28. This is the sixth feminicide since the start of the year in the Var, according to France Bleu.
On average, a feminicide occurs every three days in France. The Minister of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti recently put forward the figure of 94 femicides in 2023, compared to 118 in 2022.
