The public prosecutor had requested eight months of prison. In 2023, the number of anti-Semitic acts in France will have quadrupled compared to 2022. France has the largest Jewish community in Europe, with around 500,000 people. The defendant's lawyer, Julien Hedon, pleaded for acquittal.
