The price difference between electric cars and combustion engines has grown. Electric cars are almost 30 percent more expensive than combustion engines.

Manufacturers are bringing more and more affordable electric cars onto the market. The trend towards affordable entry-level models continues. Four models from the VW Group alone are planned from 2025. The federal government's goal of 15 million electric vehicles by 2030 is probably no longer achievable. Inexpensive electric cars could possibly cushion this trend somewhat and get more customers excited about e-mobility.
