The private life and the political role of the female presidents should be the focus of the planned series "First Ladies". The US channel Showtime wants to dive into the lives of Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford and Michelle Obama. Who plays the latter, various US media now reported: Oscar winner Viola Davis (54).

About the occupation of the other roles initially nothing was known. Author Aaron Cooley wants to settle the series in the White House.
Davis was known in 2011 by the Southern drama "The Help" about black housemaids. In 2015, she became the first black actress to win the Emmy TV Trophy for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series, and in 2017, the supporting role-playing Oscar for Fences.
Michelle Obama was first portrayed in the docudrama "My First Lady" (2016) as a young lawyer on the first dates with Barack Obama by Tika Sumpter. The former US presidential couple has now entered the film business with his production company Higher Ground. In 2018, the Obama announced a cooperation with the video streaming service Netflix. There are planned TV series and documentaries.
