An alleged raid on a money-carrier on the Autobahn 5 in Baden-Württemberg is apparently an attempt to deceive the driver and front passenger. The men at the age of 30 and 36 years had invented the robbery, said police and prosecutor Karlsruhe. Both are now in custody.
Among the suspects, the investigators also found, according to their own information, the majority of allegedly robbed cash and gold holdings. During their searches, they also seized various apparently newly purchased high-quality items such as e-bikes, watches and jewelery.
The two employees of a security firm had thus faked the robbery just under six weeks ago. They said they had been stopped by Weingarten on the A5 by a car that revealed itself as a civil police car. After stopping at a makeshift departure, two perpetrators who had turned out to be civil servants threatened them with firearms and stole the money.
In the course of the investigation, the suspicion fell on the two drivers, it was said by the authorities. The 36-year-old had admitted that the robbery was faked.
