Serena Williams about daughter: "The last two years are my biggest achievement"

On Sunday, the little daughter of Serena Williams celebrated her second birthday and her mother also had sporting reason to celebrate: The 37 -year-old reached the quarter-finals at the US Open for the 16th time. But the American, the birth of her daughter Alexis Olympia, apparently more than a victory in tennis.

"The last two years are my biggest achievement," Williams wrote about a photo on Instagram showing her and her husband Alexis Ohanian in the delivery room. A few days earlier, Williams had published a photo of herself and the girl.

Then she holds her child in her arms, looking over her shoulder. "This mother tries to spend as much time as possible with Olympia," Williams wrote. Her daughter drives her - especially at championships. The photo shows Olympia looking for a popcorn machine. However, Williams is sure her daughter is watching her mastering challenging moments.

Her daughter also helps her not to be too ambitious and thus losing matches. She feels that she no longer has to play. "I do not need the money or the titles or the prestige, I want them, but I do not need them, that's a different feeling for me," Williams said just months after the birth of Olympia.
