The Berlin police have begun more than six months after the disappearance of 15-year-old Rebecca, a new search operation in East Brandenburg. Also involved were members of the relevant homicide, said a police spokesman. About one hundred emergency services were involved.
According to the "Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung", the search took place near Storkow. The area southeast of Berlin was already in the spring in the focus of the officials advised: The suspect brother in law of the 15-year-old should have been traveling on the highway A12 towards Frankfurt (Oder) on the day of the disappearance and the evening after.
Rebecca is missing since the 18th of February. The police and prosecutors assume that she was killed.
More than 2000 clues were received by the homicide commission. The police had searched forests and lakes for weeks. Special search dogs, boats and divers as well as forces of the Technical Relief Agency (THW) were used.
