The prosecutor Munich I determined against FC Bayern pro Jérôme Boateng on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm to his former partner. Attorney General Anne Leiding confirmed a report by WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
"The Munich I prosecutor has since the fall of 2018 a case against Jérôme Boateng because of dangerous bodily injury and after extensive investigation on 11.02.2019 brought charges to the Munich district court," said the prosecutor. "Current status to our knowledge is that the case has not yet been opened, but that the co-claim of the victim S. was allowed."
The law firm representing Boateng told WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung that it was a "private matter based essentially on unproven claims by third parties."
A spokeswoman for the local court in Munich told WDR and "Süddeutsche Zeitung" that the case is in a so-called "interim proceedings". The competent judge ordered further investigations. An admission of the indictment has not yet been decided.
