The photo shows a black-haired boy in a plaid shirt and beige chinos. He bends forward and extends his right arm - his posture looks almost awkward. In his hand he holds a bunch of grass. A brown cow cranes her head.
The picture could be a promotional poster for milk from a farm. But it shows the only male descendants of Crown Princess Kiko and Crown Prince Fumihito of Akishino. On the occasion of his 13th birthday, the Japanese Imperial House has published new photos of Prince Hisahito. His black patent leather shoes are spotless on it.
The interest in the young prince is great. Hisahito was born 13 years ago on 6th September, thus securing the succession of the imperial family. According to the Japanese law of succession of 1947 only men are allowed to climb the chrysanthemum throne. Prior to Hisahito, no boy was born into Japan's imperial family for 41 years.

Japan's Prince Hisahito: Strolling in BhutanIn a photo, the royal family stands in front of orange and green flags. In the background the outlines of Bergen are visible. All three smile friendly at the camera. Hisahito's older sisters Princess Mako and Princess Kako are not on display.
Whether the young prince in his spare time actually in shirt and with a blue fishing hat on the head feeds cows and rides on a donkey, is uncertain. But the pictures show a happy looking boy. But with each passing year, the responsibility that rests on the prince grows. After His father Fumihito, the younger brother of Emperor Naruhito, Hisahito is second to the throne.
The name Hisahito is made up of two Chinese characters, the first of which "lives a long life in serenity" and the second means "righteous".
