Death sentence in the US: Texas executes convicted killers

2019-09-11T01:43:28.299Z

Mark Soliz shot a woman and now the Texas judiciary has executed the death sentence against him. The 37-year-old is the 15th prisoner to be executed in the US this year.

Another man has been executed in the state of Texas: 37-year-old Mark Soliz died Tuesday night in Huntsville following a lethal injection. He was declared dead at 18.32. Shortly before, he had apologized for his actions - he claimed to have changed in prison and found God.

Soliz broke into a woman's home in Godley, near Dallas, in June 2010 with his friend Jose Ramos. Soliz shot the 62-year-old and was sentenced to death in 2012. Already in the days before the murder, Soliz and Ramos had attacked several other people. Ramos has to serve a life sentence.

Executions since 1976

In Texas, a convicted murderer was executed last Wednesday: 64-year-old Billy Crutsinger. He was sentenced to death in 2003 for the murder of an 89-year-old woman and her 71-year-old daughter.
