Federal police have beaten and kicked prisoners in Prüm

The public prosecutor's office in Trier investigates a federal police officer who allegedly kicked and beat a suspect. There is a suspicion of assault in office, the authority said.

The police in the Rhineland-Palatinate Prüm was therefore anonymously transmitted a video that is to show the attack. It is to be seen how an official repeatedly hits a prisoner with an object and kicks him after he has been pulled from a vehicle. Who made the video is unclear. The exact course had to be determined. The suspect is said to have resisted his arrest.

The incident was reportedly preceded by a chase on the night of Monday. The later detained escaped with two other men before a check on the highway 60 near the German-Belgian border. In a square in downtown Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate, the federal police could stop the car.

Three inmates between the ages of 22 and 26 were arrested, according to the prosecution. The officers found several containers with small amounts of drugs inside the car.
