A court in Paris has sentenced the Saudi princess Hassa bint Salman to ten months in prison on probation. She therefore had a craftsman abused and humiliated. In addition, a fine of 10,000 euros was imposed on the daughter of King Salman. Her lawyer announced that she would appeal the conviction.
With the verdict, the court went beyond the prosecutor's request. She had demanded six months probation and a fine of 5,000 euros. Hassa bint Salman was sentenced in absentia. Her lawyers had rejected the allegations.
The sister of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had in 2016 a dispute with a craftsman who should repair a washstand in her luxurious Parisian apartment. Triggers should have been a cell phone photo: The craftsman had made it according to his own information for his repairs when the princess entered the bathroom. She apparently thought he had photographed her in the mirror and wanted to sell the picture.
The court considered the depiction of the craftsman plausible. Afterwards, the princess instructed her bodyguard to beat the worker and hold her for hours. "This dog has to be killed, he does not deserve to live," said Hassa bint Salman, according to the plaintiff. The craftsman had to kiss even the feet of the princess.
The bodyguard was sentenced to eight months probation and a fine of 5,000 euros. He had denied the deeds as well.
