Baden-Württemberg: Porsche driver caught without customs documents

2019-09-13T11:40:41.488Z

Expensive jaunt: Customs officers attacked a sports car driver in Baden-Württemberg without papers. His guilt was settled by the local man.

Swabian customs officials caught a 51-year-old who evidently evaded taxes. The man was on the highway according to a message - and could not provide the necessary documents.

The officials controlled the man accordingly on the A96 at Kißlegg in the district of Ravensburg. He drove a Porsche with Swiss registration. The man said the car belonged to a friend.

Vehicles registered in non-EU countries require a customs declaration when used by third parties. The man could not present these.

As a result, the customs officers initiated a preliminary investigation on suspicion of tax evasion. At the same time, the import duties and a security for the expected penalty were due - in the sum of 38,500 euros. The man still paid locally.
