"Wild in the forest" on RTL II: "It can not be that I never win anything in my life"

People in animal costumes fall over obstacles: This is the simple entertainment concept of "Wild in the forest". Unmoving, even in its best moments even touching escape television.

Maybe the makers of "Wild in the forest" finally found the golden formula after endless, painful experiments.

Perhaps this format, with its mix of bachelorette party costume, a dozen-dozen version of the "Ninja Warrior Germany" course and the most iconic traditional game at the "Summer House of the Stars", is actually the ultimate escapism break: people in huge forest animal costumes have to overcome various obstacle courses, and because they can not see anything among the fox, owl, and squirrel heads, they must follow the directional directions of their unmasked partner - and of course, a desperate badger is constantly tumbling over a tree trunk or catching a disoriented chicken in the undergrowth.

"Wild in the forest": Well padded, but unfortunately blind

One could now halfheartedly see this as a perfect metaphor for the stubborn life of man, who, impelled by the constraints and under the pressure of society, drives him alienated through existence - but the beauty of "Wild in the forest" is that there are no such semblance hubs needs, because it does not want to be any more than a show in which people in animal costumes make themselves awkward and are therefore funny.

In the costumes are no celebrities, you learn fortunately only the most necessary about the kinship, chubby or liebesmäßig affiliated teams of two, the costumes are not disturbing as in "The Masked Singer" or extra on mangy trimmed as the "summer house" -Parcours, presenter Sonja Zietlow appears only sporadically, the mood of the show is not even over the top or hysterical.

It is not about much, not even for the winners: The winning animal-lotse team gets 5000 Euro (divided by two) plus a trip to Egypt. Incidentally, "Wild in the Forest" did not originate in RTL2's own trash factory, it is an adaptation of the British original "Wild Things".

"Wild in the forest" refers to nothing, that's what makes his qualities as escape TV format, it's not an exciting event, but anlassic distraction: You watch and laugh because the duck pushes the fox, before even three times in a row by a swinging bumblebee -Pendel is struck down.

You giggle because the owl rolls awkwardly on the turntable. It almost bothers you when the badger-costumed and their pilot get into the hair because of the persistent failure and still call themselves "babe", because you just want to look in peace, as now the fox tackles the duck , You can really look at it, it seems to be relaxing.

Interestingly enough, it is the moments between the games that make one move and take on the format: the images of depressed costume animals standing around, who have just retired from fly agaric because of their underachievement. The duck that gives me real despair: "My God, it can not be that I never win anything in my life".

The moments in which one of these larger-than-life, on cute trimmed forest animals just seem insanely human.
