Trump's former spokesman in Tanzshow: Sporty Spicer

His dance partner spoke of his "pre-preschool level": The former spokesman for Donald Trump has appeared in the US show "Dancing with the Stars" - and did not get away very well.

Until the middle of last year, Sean Spicer held press briefings at the White House. Several times he was massively criticized: He had claimed that journalists had reported incorrectly about the number of spectators in Donald Trump's swearing-in to the US president. He had also compared the Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad with Adolf Hitler and said: "Not even Hitler has used chemical weapons."

In July 2018 Spicer resigned as Speaker of the White House - apparently due to a personnel decision of the US President. Now he ventured again on smooth floor - but in a much less responsible position: The current season "Dancing with the Stars" of the US broadcaster ABC has begun - and Spicer is one of the candidates.

Prior to his performance, Spicer's dance partner Lindsay Arnold said the skills of Trump's former press spokesman were on a pre-pre-school level. He was definitely not a natural.

Spicer started his performance with a bongo drum. In a neon green frilly shirt and a very tight white pants he danced - to match - "Spice up Your Life" by the Spice Girls.

He irritably left the jury behind with the number. So a juror asked: "What did you do there?" It looked like Spicer had been attacked by a swarm of wasps. Spicer got only 12 out of 30 possible points.

In advance, he was pleased with the support of his ex-chief: Donald Trump tweeted at the end of August to Spicer's upcoming appearance: "He will make it great, a great man who loves our country very much!"

Just heard that Sean Spicer wants to be on "Dancing with the Stars." He will do great. A terrific person who loves our country dearly!

That seemed to be well received by Spicer: "It's nice to have the leader of the free world on his side when it comes to getting votes," he said.

In an interview, Spicer said what motivated his participation in the show: "Honestly, I only earn money and try to enjoy life," he told the New Yorker. According to the report, he will earn a minimum of $ 125,000.
