More than thirty years ago, a 61-year-old murdered a woman - according to the court, "because he did not realize that he could no longer get sex for free." Now he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Berlin Regional Court has sentenced a 61-year-old man to life imprisonment for murder - 32 years after the killing of a young woman. The man killed the woman in her apartment "because he did not realize that he could no longer get the sex for free," the court ruled. The defendant acted with low motives.

The investigation into the death of the woman had been discontinued in 1991. However, the DNA of the dead had already been seized in 1987 by foreign DNA. New investigative methods led to the 61-year-old in 2015.

The defendant is said to have met the 30-year-old through an advertisement and met several times. It was a sexual relationship, the court said. At the meeting on the day of the tatto, however, the victim is said to have asked for money for sexual intercourse.

The defendant is said to have choked the 30-year-old in front of her son and strangled with a sweater. Finally, the perpetrator stabbed several times with a knife in her throat. The child was 2 years old at the time of the crime.

The defender of the man had pleaded for acquittal and announced to go in revision.
