In a major fire in the small town of Wildau in Brandenburg, a shopping center was completely destroyed. No one was hurt, said a spokesman for the police.

First evidence suggests that a burning sofa caused the fire. It was on the outer wall of the building. The police suspect arson. It will now be determined whether the sofa was negligent or deliberately set on fire, said the police spokesman.
At 0.23 the fire was reported to the fire brigade. When the forces arrived on the ground, the building was already in flames and was beyond saving. On 5,000 square meters of floor space were, inter alia, a bank, a snack bar and a travel agency housed.
