A record attempt with a racing boat has taken a deadly end for three people off the coast of Venice. Her boat raced close to a harbor on Tuesday evening against cliffs, as the Italian fire department tweeted. Three bodies had been recovered from the submerged cabin, another human had gone overboard and been injured.

According to news agency Ansa, one of the victims was an Italian racing boat designer and rider who tried to set a speed record from Monte Carlo to Venice. The other two victims are British pilots.
The racing boat could reach speeds up to 130 km / h. It started on Monday morning in Monte Carlo and crashed shortly before the finish line.
