Jan Böhmermann grows up: In the coming year, the satirist will switch to the ZDF main program. He told the staff of his "Neo Magazine Royale" on Wednesday evening. After recording the show, they were called to the studio where Böhmermann and his producers informed them about the plans.
The last "Neo Magazine Royale" is scheduled to run in December, and in the months after that, he and his team plan to revise the concept. In the autumn of 2020, the renovated program is to return to the screen - under a new name and no longer on ZDFneo, but on ZDF. Böhmermann expresses this desire for years, also in his show. He has already mentioned a favorite date there: the previous slot of the cultural magazine "Aspects", on Fridays after the "Today Show".
Böhmermann's contract with ZDF will be extended at the turn of the year. For ZDFneo he is to produce more formats. Last Monday, ZDF Program Director Norbert Himmler traveled to Cologne to discuss further cooperation with Böhmermann and his producers from the Picture and Sound Factory (btf).
