In Bavaria, a man died on Lake Starnberg. The non-swimmer had apparently left with two friends for fishing at night.

A 32-year-old drowned in a boating accident on Lake Starnberg in Bavaria. Two other men were taken to a hospital with hypothermia, as the police in Ingolstadt reported. The trio was initially driven out at night to go fishing on the lake.

Late on Thursday evening, men between the ages of 21 and 32, at the height of a campsite in Muinging, found themselves in distress, initially unexplained. The motorboat was full of water. The 21-year-old was able to save himself from the boat and swam to the shore to get help.

During the subsequent rescue mission, a 29-year-old was rescued from the now capsized boat. His 32-year-old acquaintance, a non-swimmer, could only be rescued lifeless. The boat was not designed for three people according to initial investigation.
