Emmys 2019: "Game of Thrones" and "Fleabag" clear

No drama series is better than "Game of Thrones", no series wittier than "Fleabag": In the US, the Emmy Awards have been awarded. There were many first times - and a record.



The fantasy series "Game of Thrones" has set its own record at the US television awards Emmys again: The ended in May after eight seasons series won two prizes at the gala in Los Angeles - best drama series and best supporting actor in a drama series for Peter Dinklage - in addition to the ten trophies that she had previously collected in secondary categories. In 2015 and 2016, the series had each received twelve awards. That's a record.

Best actor in a drama series was named Billy Porter ("Pose"), making him the first openly gay actor to win in this Emmy category.

The Emmys are awarded in about 120 categories by about 24,000 members of the Television Academy. At the gala, the main categories take center stage. For the fourth time in the Emmy story, there was no presenter at the starred gala.
