A driver has fatally injured a pedestrian in Thuringia. The 76-year-old co-driver had died in the accident in Reisdorf, said a spokesman for the police early Monday morning.
The motorist had driven over the sidewalk and then against a garage pillar. Both women died according to the information still at the scene of the accident. The pedestrian's dog was also killed. The 79-year-old driver reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
How it came to the accident is still unclear. According to the newspaper "Thüringer Allgemeine" he happened at 17.10 clock. A rescue helicopter was in use. The street on the outskirts Reisdorf in the direction of Bad Sulza was therefore fully closed even in the evening.
The "Bild" newspaper reported that the vehicle was an SUV.
