Soon, two men will face trial following a failed robbery on two sports stars in London. They were said to have threatened Mesut Özil and Sead Kolasinac and were charged with attempted robbery, among other things, as the police now told.
The raid had occurred on July 25 in London. A surveillance video showed how the two football stars were attacked by two motorcyclists. Kolasinac had confronted the attackers with his bare hands, then the two football professionals were able to escape by car. Özil and Kolasinac took a game break to process the events.
The 30-year-old suspect is currently in custody and due to appear in court on October 3. He is also charged with possession of cannabis.
Armed with metal bars
His 26-year-old alleged accomplice is said to be heard on Monday evening, according to the Evening Standard. Actually, the 26-year-old should have already been heard on Wednesday - but a video switching could not be organized according to the report.
In the first media reports it was said that the men were armed with knives. However, according to the "Evening Standard", they had metal bars with them, the 30-year-old was also armed with a screwdriver. He is therefore accused of having targeted the clock of Kolasinac.
