A United Airlines flight from Washington DC to San Francisco had to make an unplanned detour. The plane landed in Denver - because a woman was locked in the toilet.
According to the airline, the door to the toilet did not open. The passenger was trapped - probably for about an hour. In Denver, the woman was then "safely taken out of the toilet". The passengers of the flight could have continued their journey in another aircraft.
Passengers released a video of the relief on Twitter. "We're working to open the door, ma'am, we'll get you out soon, okay?" Said a technician in the clip to the trapped man. A passenger told KPIX-TV: "Everyone clapped when she came out of the bathroom."
The airline apologized to their passengers, especially to the woman. About possible damages should not have been spoken so far.
