For a man from Italy the Oktoberfest visit ended with a criminal case and the withdrawal of his driving license: Policemen stopped the 32-year-old on Sunday evening on the highway 8, after he had driven snaking lines.
According to the police, he was supposed to get out of his car in a parking lot in Upper Bavaria. However, the driver did not stop at first, because he could hardly follow the signals of the officials, it was said. An alcohol test therefore gave 1.3 per thousand.
The police initiated criminal proceedings against the Wiesn visitor and took away his driver's license. Then the roadworthy passenger sat down to the wheel. According to the police, the aim of the two was the Massa region in Tuscany. It is more than 600 kilometers from Munich.
