Instead of spending her money on luxury stuff, Collien Ulmen-Fernandes prefers to invest in rented apartments - and in her own independence. Supposedly that has something to do with their origins.

Can only be economical, who has little money? Not at all, as Collien Ulmen-Fernandes has made clear. The actress and presenter has now said that financial independence has always been very important to her - even at a very high level.

"While some, mostly male colleagues have bought their third car, I have larger sums, such as from advertising deals, always put immediately in real estate, so I could theoretically live from the rental income," said the 38-year-old of the magazine "Emotion".

"It was important to me never to depend on a man, but to be able to feed myself," added Ulmen-Fernandes. She had Indian and Swabian roots and thus the thrift from almost every side in the cradle - and thought early on their pension.
