Because he has sexually abused seven children, a school bus driver must go to jail for several years. He got to know his victims at work.

The Ravensburg district court has sentenced a school bus driver to five years' imprisonment in several cases for sexual abuse of children. Thus, the court largely followed the demands of the prosecutor.

The 26-year-old was accused of serious sexual abuse in three cases, along with sexual harassment and the spread of pornographic material. At the verdict, the judge criticized that the accused had "used his position as a bus driver to get in touch with children".

The board found it proved that the man was seducing six boys and a girl between 12 and 18 years into sexual acts. 18 such incidents had occurred in the past year and early this year in the district of Biberach in Baden-Württemberg.

The bus driver had met the children and young people at work and then invited them to leisure activities. It came to the attacks. The court emphasized that the bus driver continued to abuse children despite a previous conviction for similar offenses.

According to the judge, the 26-year-old confessed and thus spared the children a detailed account of the incidents. Without this confession, the sentence could have been up to eight years. "You can make-up the profession of bus driver for all time," said the judge. This also applies to any other occupation with children.

The prosecutor had demanded a three-month prison sentence. She relied, inter alia, on a psychiatric report that attested the defendant full responsibility - also because he has no pedophilia.
