Axel Springer plans to expand its tabloid "Bild" into a TV brand. Opposite the SPIEGEL editor-in-chief Julian Reichelt ever makes a challenge in the direction of the public-legal.

"Bild" -Chefredakteur Julian Reichelt, 39, plans the future television program of the tabloid as an alternative to ARD and ZDF. "We want to show the country, the world, the politics and the everyday life of people as people experience it, and not as sterile and soft-washed as partially in the public-law," said Reichelt the SPIEGEL.

"I believe that people get on their nerves a lot if they constantly find out why some things are not reported instead of seeing what actually happened," said Reichelt, citing as an example the sword attack in Stuttgart. A migrant had stabbed his roommate to death in the street and allegedly came in with fake papers. "After it has not been reported for days in the national news, has arrived at the public law, that there is political relevance," said Reichelt.

At the beginning of the week, Axel Springer announced that it would expand "Bild" into a TV brand. Reichelt says: "If necessary, we send out ten people who will be on-site and ready to broadcast within 24 hours - they will not need satellite dishes, broadcast trucks, masks, and everlasting planning conferences."
