Lower Saxony: Four injured by electric shock on bumper cars

Due to a technical defect in a bumper car near Hanover four people were injured by power surges. The ride was closed.



At the October market in Burgdorf near Hanover four visitors of a bumper car driving business were injured. The reason was a technical defect that caused a railing to be energized.

On Friday, initially two 13-year-olds and a 50-year-old member of the operator were slightly injured when they came into contact with the railing. The ride was then closed and the main power turned off. The fire department found a technical defect, an electrician should then check the system and fix the error.

The next day the ride opened again. But the railing was again under power, another 13-year-old was slightly injured by an electric shock and received medical treatment at the Medical University of Hannover.

The written proof of the repair of the electrical system was not sufficiently meaningful according to police and was ensured. Now is being investigated for negligent assault. The store was closed again and closed. The operators started at noon with the dismantling of the car scooter.
