Scorpions singer Klaus Meine has annoyed his neighbors with the whistle of "Wind of Change" annoyed. As the 71-year-old said the "Bild" newspaper, he wrote the world hit in September 1989 at the open window in his home studio in Hannover. "First there was the famous whistle, then the text," said Meine. "With my repetitive whistling, I annoyed my neighbors."
The Scorpions, founded in 1965 in Hannover, are regarded as the most successful German rock band with more than 100 million albums sold and legendary tours (Read a 2017 tour report here). "Wind of Change" has been clicked on Youtube more than 700 million times. The song also stands for cohesion in Europe, the musician had said in August.
The band is currently touring South America. After a performance at the legendary music festival "Rock in Rio" there are still concerts in Bogotá (Colombia) and Quito (Ecuador). Then it goes back to Europe. In the eastern part of the continent, Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs and Mikkey Dee can be seen in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk and Budapest, among others.
