The Irish actor Brendan Gleeson is to play in a TV miniseries the American President Donald Trump. The production company CBS Studios announced the cast for the planned four-hour series on Monday on Twitter. The 64-year-old Gleeson is known among others from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (in which he played Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody) and "Edge of Tomorrow".

In German, it appeared under the title "Greater Than the Office: In Search of Truth - the ex-FBI director accuses". Comey describes Trump as a man without a moral compass and a notorious liar who leads the country in the style of a mafia boss. Comey was released by Trump in May 2017, the book was published in April 2018 and became a bestseller.
Filming for the mini-series is scheduled to begin in November. The script is from "Captain Phillips" author Billy Ray.
