Royal House decision in Sweden: That's what Madeleine and Carl Philipp say

2019-10-08T11:23:19.803Z

The sons and daughters of Princess Madeleine and Prince Carl Philipp are no longer members of the Swedish royal family. The parents of the children do not bother with the decision - quite the contrary.

It is a farewell without remorse. On Monday it was announced that the children of Princess Madeleine and Prince Carl Philip should no longer be considered members of the Swedish royal family. Now the parents of the little nobles have spoken up.

Princess Madeleine published a photo of herself and her children Leonore, Nicolas and Adrienne. She wrote that the now announced change had been planned for a long time. "Chris and I think it's good that our children have a greater chance of shaping their own lives as individuals in the future."

Prince Carl Philip is also happy for his children. Like his sister Madeleine he spread an opinion on Instagram. The picture shows him with his wife Sofia and their two sons Alexander and Gabriel in autumn forest. "We see it positively how Alexander and Gabriel will have free choices in life," wrote the 40-year-old.

Their prince titles and duchies in Sodermanland and Dalarna would keep the children. "Our family is closely linked to both landscapes, and we stick to our commitment," Carl Philipp wrote. "We will continue to support the King and the Crown Princess - our future Head of State - and participate as we wish in the activities of the royal family," said the Prince.

Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne lose not only their official role in the royal family - but also the Apanage. It is a kind of income, funded by taxpayers' money for royals and the maintenance of royal properties.

The succession to the throne does not change as a result of the decision. The fact that the number of members of the royal family in this form would be reduced, ultimately show the welfare of the king for his grandchildren, judged Swedish media.
