Almost two dozen threatening letters were received by anchor centers, mosques and parties: Investigators are now searching suspicious objects in several federal states.

Due to threats against Islamic centers, party headquarters and other institutions, searches have been conducted in four federal states since the early morning.

Since six o'clock there are actions in seven objects in Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, communicated the Attorney General office Munich and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. About 120 officials are involved in the operation, as a spokeswoman for the Bavarian LKA announced.

The reason for the search operation was a preliminary investigation against the authors of a total of 23 threatening letters, which were sent nationwide in July. It was threatened, inter alia, with explosives attacks. Signed were the threats with "Popular Front", "Combat 18" or "Blood and Honor".

Affected were, according to the information, among other anchor centers in Bavaria, Islamic centers, mosques, party headquarters and press and media agencies.
