Unidentified gunmen reportedly shot at a refugee camp late on Wednesday night. The state security has taken over the investigation.

Unknown persons in the Rhenish town of Zülpich apparently fired shots at the windowpane of a municipal immigration shelter. Injured had not given it in the incident on Wednesday evening, said the Bonn police.

Residents of the accommodation reported to the police that they had experienced two shot-like noises. Then they would have discovered damage to the kitchen window on the first floor.

Shortly thereafter, a car with several inmates drove away from the scene. The car is said to be a dark VW Golf, according to witnesses.

The police are now looking for more witnesses. The state security has taken over the investigation.
